Google has announced the release of its first web browser called Google Chrome. Google Chrome is Google’s open source browser with innovative features making web browsing a great experience. Google Chrome has a browser window that is streamlined and simple. Google has added a comic book to show the features of Chrome. Its a 38 page book which gives complete details.

Google Blogoscoped managed to get screenshots of the browser with all the features and here is how Chrome looks like. So far from the images Chrome definitely looks promising with a mixture of features from Mozilla Prism and Opera web browser.

Features of Google Chrome;
- Google Chrome is open source project
- The browser will include a JavaScript Virtual Machine called V8.
- Google Chrome uses special tabs which are placed above the address bar unlike the ones in Firefox.
- The browser has an address bar with auto-completion features.
- Default home page will have speed dial features like in Opera.
- Google Chrome has a privacy mode for browsing
- Web apps can be launched in their own browser window without address bar and toolbar.
- To fight malware and phishing attempts, Chrome is constantly downloading lists of harmful sites.
Google Chrome beta version should be available in 100 countries today. While writing this post, the download links were not working for us, but we’ll soon update as and when we have more information on this.
